People often seem to get confused with the process of linking Aadhar card with their bank account, but the process is really very easy and simple. Here we have mentioned the methods which will be applicable to almost all banks like State Bank of India (SBI), ICICI Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC), Punjab National Bank (PNB), HDFC Bank, Canara Bank, etc.
Method 1- Linking Aadhar Card to Bank account through online procedure: Net Banking
Note: You need to avail the net banking facility in order to opt for this method.
- Log in to your internet banking account.
- After logging in to your account, find a link which says “Aadhar card seeding” or “Update Aadhaar Card Details”. Click on it.
- In the respective fields enter your Aadhar card details and click on the “Submit” button.
- Once submitted, the bank officials will then verify the information you have provided and will be processed thereafter.
- You will be notified through SMS on your registered mobile number or through e-mail.
Method 2- Linking Aadhar Card to Bank account through offline mode: By Visiting the Branch
Those who do not have access to net banking, they can also link their Aadhar card with their bank account in the following way.
- Download the “Aadhar and Bank Linking Form” online (google it) for your respective bank, and take out its printout. - Fill all the details carefully.
- Once you have filled, attach a photocopy of your Aadhar card along with this form.
- Submit it to the bank officials.
- Carry your original Aadhar card & Passbook with you while going to submit the form, as the bank officials may ask for your original Aadhar card for checking.
- They will keep the form with them for further verification.
- You will be notified through SMS on your registered mobile number or through e-mail.
